I need to set up a Wireless Lan with a range of approx 500 meters.

Q:Can anyone help please?. I need to set up a Wireless Lan with a range of approx 500 meters.
My biggest concern is that there will be up to 80 small portable pc's in the network, all within the 500 meter range. My initial thought was to use a D-Link DWL-1750 external router on a server with an amplified antenna on a PCI card for the other pc's.
Does anyone have experience of this type of installation
